Red Bank put together an all-around solid performance to beat Signal Mountain, 10-6, and finally got to lift the District 6AA championship plaque they came so close to winning last season.
“It feels good,” Red Bank head coach Mandi Munn said while holding her teams’ newest trophy. “This senior class has worked hard, especially after last year’s loss, this feels good.”
Coach Munn’s side dominated the early innings and were up 8-0 by the end of the second, but Signal Mountain scored the next six runs. Going into the sixth inning the Eagles were still down 8-6, but they had all the momentum.

As they gear up for the 6AA tournament Red Bank appears to be operating on all cylinders. The Lady Lions roared onto Tyner’s softball diamond Wednesday afternoon and sped off with a 17-1 basting of the Lady Rams by using 15 hits to score 17 runs.
Scoring runs in all but the second inning of the run-rule shortened game, Red Bank hit for seven runs in the top of the fifth to end the contest.
The Lady Lions’ Bailee Phillips was once again the backbone of her team’s defense. Phillips threw 53 of her 64 total pitches for strikes which resulted in 12 strikeouts. The talented hurler scattered five hits and did not allow a walk.

Red Bank’s Lady Lions didn’t waste any time taking control of their softball game with the Bledsoe County Lady Warriors at Red Bank Friday afternoon.
Playing the opening game of the Red Bank Invitational, the Lady Lions scored twice in the first inning and three times in the second and that’s all that senior right-hander Bailee Phillips needed in a 5-0 victory that was called after five innings by time limit.
