CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson women’s basketball program and head coach Shawn Poppie announced the signing of graduate transfer student-athlete Anya Poole on Monday morning. Poole, a 6’2” forward from Raleigh, N.C. who has one year of eligibility remaining, joins the Tigers after spending the previous four seasons with the North Carolina Tar Heels. During her time in Chapel Hill, Poole started 74 games and saw action in 116. In the 2021-22 season, Poole started every game for the Heels, averaged 7.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 57% from the floor, and UNC advanced to the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. The talented post player joins the Tigers with an abundance of postseason experience. In her four years with North Carolina, Poole was a starter and contributor on three different teams that made the NCAA tournament and won a combined four games.
