Hearing on Tandav postponed to April 19 at Patiala House Court
The Patiala House Court has postponed the hearing of Tandav to April 19. A petition had been filed against the Amazon Prime web series for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

A petition against Amazon Prime Video s Tandav was filed by Vishnu Gupta, founder of Hindu Sena.
The hearing in Patiala House Court on a petition filed on web series Tandav allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus has been postponed. The Patiala House Court had a hearing today only through video conferencing, but now the court will have a physical hearing on April 19.

Saif Ali Khan-starrer Tandav web series has landed itself in troubled waters for allegedly depicting the Hindu Gods in a bad light. An FIR has been lodged against Ali Abbas Jafar and Gaurav Solanki, the director and the writer of the series respectively for hurting the religious sentiments of the Hindu community. Further, a notice has also been issued by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry to Amazon Prime, the OTT platform where the series was released first streamed on January 15
th.
An increasing clamour for banning the series is being reflected on social media platforms with the hashtags of #BanTandavNow being widely circulated. In light of this, many people have come forth to call the portions of the series, “objectionable” and “demeaning”. One particular scene which has remained in the focus and is being widely criticized is where actor Zeeshan Ayyub, who plays the role of campus activist Shiva, dresses up as Lord shiva while giving a stage performance. Amazon Prime Videoâs âTandavâ is the latest in a long line of films and web series that have found themselves in trouble for one reason or another. âTandavâ, a nine-episode political thriller starring Saif Ali Khan, Dimple Kapadia and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, started streaming last week and is neck-deep in trouble with loud calls for its boycott and an FIR against its makers in Lucknow. At the centre of the row is a scene with Zeeshan, in the role of college student Shiva, playing the Hindu god Mahadev in a theatre production.
