Talisker to launch its oldest whisky yet – 43 years old
From its sea-sprayed distillery on the Isle of Skye, Talisker is about to launch its oldest whisky to date, and with overseas travel restrictions still frustrating holiday plans, it could be as close as you get to an ocean-going adventure this summer.
Talisker Xpedition Oak: The Atlantic Challenge, is a 43-year-old single malt, bottled at cask strength (49.7% ABV), and priced at £3,500 per 700ml.
Most high-end spirits brands will attempt to weave a story around their product; that way consumers aren’t just buying a drink, but an
experience. Indeed, with limited edition, ultra-premium spirits like this, enthusiasts may be discussing them for years to come, so it can be fun to have talking points beyond colour, aroma, and flavour.
Talisker Reveals Oldest Ever Release, Xpedition Oak
The Skye distillery announces new 43 Year Old whisky with renowned adventurer James Aiken.

Talisker has revealed the oldest Scotch whisky in its 191-year history. The Talisker 43 Year Old Xpedition Oak: The Atlantic Challenge is a rare liquid that pays homage to the distillery’s special relationship with the wild seas that surround its Isle of Skye home.
The distillery’s signature sea salt and smoky sweetness flavor profile has always been heavily influenced by the warm sea air that arrives across the Atlantic. Talisker has put those influences into overdrive with the Xpedition Oak by using staves (sections of casks) that had sailed across the great ocean.
