The Delhi High Court has asked the ASI to investigate a plea by the Hindu Sena claiming that the Taj Mahal was not built by Shah Jahan. The plea seeks to correct allegedly incorrect information in history books about the Taj Mahal s construction and age.
A senior ASI official said that the main mausoleum is standing on a raised platform. It is standing on the Chameli farsh, and in the foundation, it has 42 wells and a structure of sal woods over the wells.
Rupjyoti Kurmi, the legislator from Assam’s Mariani, said temples should be built at the two sites and offered to donate a year’s salary for the proposal.
