Walnut Valley Festival headliners Steel Wheels are coming to the Emporia Granada Theatre this month, supported by Weda Skirts and Sweet Lil & The Nothings.

Driven by Art Stafford, Jr. equaling his lifetime harness racing record of 1:56.4. He is also the winner of the Va Bred program and increased his 2020 earnings to $144,987 in winning by 4 ¼ lengths. Touch Of White finished second followed by Chauffeur in show.
The trotting ladies were all the 1-9 favorite, Emmy’s Mayflower (
Anders Bluestone-Stirling Charisma) winning in 1:55.4 by 9 lengths in a new stakes record for driver, Russell Foster and his Uncle Eric who is the breeder,owner,and trainer.This was the 5th win in seven starts bringing her bank account for the year up to $97,700. Dabigspooky Bootah was second followed by Katies Blu Diamond in third.

No Spin Zone-Hurricane Jenna) in 1:54.3 for the meet’s leading driver, Tim Tetrick and trainer, Chuck Crissman,Jr. Owned by the Cook boys, Dale,Brendan, and Allen and bred by Virginia Louthan. Spin Sumthin was second and Cinder Rock finished third.
The second division lead off the Daily Double. Sweet Lil (
Art Director-Blissful Lil) prevailed in 1:57 for driver, Tony Morgan and trainer, Jason Skinner. Owned by George Minner and bred by Josephine Vincent. Second was last week’s winner, Foolish Wisdom followed by She’s Got The Lynx.
Dale, Brendan and Allen Cook s Spinferno completed a sweep of her Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund preliminary legs for sophomore pacing fillies with a 1:54.3 score on Wednesday (Dec. 9) at Dover Downs.
In the first of two $20,000 divisions, Spinferno coasted to a 1-1/4-length victory over Spin Sumthin and Cinder Rock. Tim Tetrick once again drove the Virginia Louthan-bred daughter of No Spin Zone and Hurrican Jenna, who earned her fourth win in five starts thus far for trainer Chuck Crissman Jr.
The second division saw Sweet Lil narrowly hold sway in 1:57 over first-round winner Foolish Wisdom and Shes Got The Lynx. Tony Morgan drove the Josephine Vincent-bred daughter of Art Director and Blissful Lil for trainer Jason Skinner and owner George Minner.
