A Delhi court has ordered the de-sealing of Uphaar cinema hall, scene of a 1997 tragedy where 59 people died in a fire. The ruling said "absolutely no purpose would be served to keep the property sealed", and contacted parties had given their agreement for the theatre s return. Ansal Theatres and Club Hotels Private Ltd had applied for the de-sealing and were previously run by real estate barons Sushil Ansal and Gopal Ansal, who were convicted in the court case following the fire.
