A Delhi court has ordered the de-sealing of Uphaar cinema hall, scene of a 1997 tragedy where 59 people died in a fire. The ruling said "absolutely no purpose would be served to keep the property sealed", and contacted parties had given their agreement for the theatre's return. Ansal Theatres and Club Hotels Private Ltd had applied for the de-sealing and were previously run by real estate barons Sushil Ansal and Gopal Ansal, who were convicted in the court case following the fire.
