Under a payment scenario spanning from 2026 to 2055, the city would be looking at an annual loan payment of $1.3 million, along with yearly $500,000 alum treatments recommended by an engineer firm.
Three council members say they are against moving forward with dredging at this time, while four are in favor of the project. The council will vote on a 30-year loan application on June 20.
“I’m just glad the campaign is over. It’s just great to know the people of Ward 4 trust me and know I’m committed to representing them and doing what’s best for our community,” Tjarks said.
