The house next door was in serious danger of also going up in smoke. Neighbors say it all started with a loud explosion. Boom just a loud boom. And the whole house shook. You can see the flames went up about 10 feet. Reporter this man was upset because his cat was trapped inside. He wanted to go in after it. As night fell, firefighters found the mans cat. They rescued and resuscitated him. As you can see, smoke is still pouring off his body. His owner was still upset but grateful. The building has severe fire damage inside. Three lanes of west 580 shut down two lanes east closed. With westbound 580 with those lanes shut down traffic is backed up solid beyond grant line. Cbs news projects republicans picked up at least seven seats in the senate. The republicans ousted democratic incumbents in arkansas, north carolina, and iowa. They won in south dakota, virginia, and iowa. It is the first time the gop has held the majority in the senate since 2006. It and a man and a man likely to become the new Senate Majority leader is the current minority leader, kentuckys mitch mcconnell. He easily won reelection in one of the countrys most watched races.
