Cops visit to El Pecos based on observations made by health officials

Following the visit to El Pecos on Ariapiata Avenue earlier today, the Police Service issued the following statement: Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith, wishes to inform the public that officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) visited the premises of El Pecos Market Place, Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook, this afternoon following a report received from the public health officials of the Port-of-Spain City Corporation.

A 38-year-old man was shot in the right hand and foot, allegedly over the sale of land.
According to a police report, the victim told police he was having a conversation with his neighbours near his home about the sale of land in the area when he was approached by a man from the community who told him to leave.
The incident happened at about 2.30 pm on Wednesday.
The suspect then allegedly pulled out a firearm and shot the victim several times.
2 guns, ammo, ganja found in Diego Martin

Two guns and a quantity of ammunition were seized during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Western Division.
Police said the exercise was conducted between Monday and Tuesday by officers of the Western Division Task Force.
A police release said around 4.30 pm, PCs Murray, Mc Clean and Sahadath went to an area known as “Duck Farm,” at the corner of Cizan Trace and Blue Basin Road, Diego Martin.
