Gbarnga, BONG COUNTY – Bong County Superintendent Esther Walker could be dismissed for stating that the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) lost the December 8, 2020 Special Senatorial elections because the party threatened to dismiss local officials in the county if they didn’t support the party’s candidate.
“One of the main things that led to our defeat in the December 8 Special Senatorial elections was that the party hunted political opponents in the county. You had one man in the county who threatened to dismiss local officials if they didn’t support the ruling party’s candidate. If that doesn’t stop it would be difficult for us to win Bong County in the 2023 presidential elections”, Superintendent Walker sai ....

JERSEY CITY, NJ Parents and several children celebrated on Thursday, the reopening of Jersey City Public Schools next week. While many parents saw the reversal of the reopening delay as a win, plenty of parents were skeptical that the district could change its mind, yet again. ....

Jersey City Board of Education hosts special meeting to discuss upcoming budget

The budget hearing comes just over a week after the state cut the Jersey City Public School funding by $71 million, though some of that will be offset by $48.3 million in federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund.
“Underfunding has established inequities in our school, impacted the progress and safety of our kids, impacted our ability to handle this pandemic, and hindered our ability to reopen our schools,” said Nancy Pokler who identified as a member of Jersey City Together.
“I’m hoping that at this time this school funding hot potato game will finally be called out and that our leaders of our Board of Education will put all political aspirations and pressures aside in order to establish ownership over the future of our schools. Our local funding responsibility shouldn’t be overlooked.” ....
