PETALING JAYA: Selangor, Johor and Kuala Lumpur continue to record a high number of Covid-19 infections with 1,362,1, 068 and 702 cases, respectively. Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said 14 new Covid-19 clusters were also detected yesterday, with nine linked to workplace transmissions, three involving high-risk groups, while the remaining two were linked to community transmissions. Selangor recorded three new clusters: Sungai Purun, the Jalan Lagoon construction site and Industri Puchong. Two clusters were detected in Perak, namely at Persiaran Raya and Lapangan Siber. Kuala Lumpur’s latest three clusters are at Jalan Puchong, Jalan Empat and Jalan Tan. Three new clusters were also found in Sabah in Ladang Sungai Pin, Kampung Samin and Padas Damit. ....
PETALING JAYA: Selangor continued to record high Covid-19 numbers, with 1,362 cases detected on Monday (Feb 1). Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the state was followed by Johor (1,068 cases) and Kuala Lumpur (702). Of the cases in Selangor, he said 967 came from clusters and close contact screenings that were actively being done in the field. (In Selangor) 185 cases came from clusters, including 123 from the new clusters - Jalan Lagoon construction site, Puchong Industry, and Sungai Purun, he said in a statement on Monday (Feb 1). He added that 782 other cases were from close contact screenings, three were imported cases, and 392 cases were from other Covid-19 screenings. ....

Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 4,280 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 170,329. In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 219,173. ADVERTISEMENT There are 48,074 active cases with 316 patients being treated in intensive care and 137 requiring respiratory assistance. Meanwhile, the 10 deaths take the death toll to 770. The new cases today involved 4,205 local infections and nine imported cases. Selangor recorded the highest number of cases today with 1,362, while Johor also reported four-digit infections (1,068). ....
