morning. if you are lung sensitive, don t go on the walk or long jog, because the air is gunky. that s the word we are looking for. temperatures are mild indeed. it feels like the dead middle of summer, doesn t it, everybody? 71 in washington and 71 in annapolis, and 68 degrees in fredricericksbur fredericksburg, and get into the panhandle of west virgia, temperatures in the upper 60s. not much going on around our immediate vicinity. there s nothing up stream from us immediately. if you step outside this morning you will notice there is more than enough humidity around. i don t think we are going to have to worry too much about rain chances until after 2:00, 3:00, 4:00 this afternoon. but 5:00 or 6:00, scattered thunderstorms will be around. north and west of the immediate metro. highs in the mid to upper 80s. i think tomorrow might be the first 90-degree day of the year. last year we went right straight out of the 90s and into the 100s teedly, so let s hope we can keep ....

in connection with the 1979 disappearance of 6-year-old etan patz. police say the former convenience store worker confessed to killing the boy. here are details. reporter: it has been 33 years since 6-year-old etan patz disappeared while walking to catch a school bus. now a break in the case. the new york city police department is announcing the arrest of pedro hernandez. reporter: according to police, hernandez shown here in a photo, spoke to detectives more than three hours and confessed to killing the child. hernandez described to the detectives how he lured young etan from the school bus stop. reporter: investigators say a tip led police to the hernandez home. hernandez told a family member and others he had done a bad thing and killed a child in new york. reporter: back in april, police spent several days searching a basement along the route the child walked to catch the bus. i believe it was the focus that was given this case in april that sort o ....
