Southbury Selectmen Review Questions on State's STS Plans | Top Stories

SOUTHBURY â The Board of Selectmen,Â at a special meeting on Tuesday, March 30, reviewed and edited the questions submitted by the Strategic Plan Commission regarding the Southbury Training School.
The Strategic Plan Commission had submitted a list of 22 questions to selectmen, each of which was considered and reworded to better focus the townâs concerns or, in some cases, eliminated to highlight importance of the remaining questions.
In all, selectmen eliminatedÂ 11 of the questions, added to one and reworded or edited 10.
The selectmen plan to include the questions in a letter to the state, in what has been described as a fact-finding effort. The response will better prepare the town for any future developments with theÂ STS property. ....

Strategic Plan Commission Considers Ambassador Group

SOUTHBURY â The Strategic Plan Commission, meeting Thursday, March 11, discussed the idea of creating an ambassador program as a resource for the commission.
Chair John Monteleone explained that he had invited people who have experience as former members of the Strategic Planning Task Force or Strategic Plan Commission or members of the community.
He noted that these people have a significant amount of knowledge and expertise as a result of their education, employment and/or background and service in the strategic planning process and research on strategic plan priorities approved by the Board of Selectmen.
While they would not be required to attend meetings, ambassadors would stay current with commission activities via minutes in order to provide support in terms of advice or counsel on certain subjects. ....
