Demonstrations showing support for the end of Cuba s communist regime popped up throughout Collier and Lee counties over the past few days. In addition to the group at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Airport-Pulling Road South, dozens of ex-patriots and their friends and family planned to demonstrate in Cape Coral and downtown Fort Myers. Protests in Cuba began Sunday, and it s considered the country s biggest anti-government movement in the past 30 years. Cubans continue a decades-long struggle for freedom, especially now during the country s worst economic crisis in decades.
