We start with that attempted attack in the heart of new york city. Multiple officials confirm to nbc news that this photo is the suspect, akayed ullah. During a press conference about an hour ago we learned three people were just trying to take the subway this morning now have lifethreatening injuries. The suspect is seriously injured, as well. Officials say he had a lowtech device strapped to his body with velcro and zip ties. The device went off inside of a subway terminal just after 7 00 this morning. Suffer burns. The explosion happened near times square this morning. At least three other people were injured. Reporter we are outside of the Port Authority bus terminal in manhattan, about a block west of times square. This is where this terrorist incident took place this morning, about 7 20 a. M. According to the nypd Police Commissioner james oneill, the device exploded inside a tunnel connecting two of the major subway lines where passengers connect and the suspect can be seen on Surveillance Video walking eastbound in that tunnel and then the explosion.
