I have thought a little bit about that before in one beginning of an idea i came up with is things need to be tackled in preschool because in preschool, preschool is a time where kids have the fewest ideas coming into conceptions about the world. Its the ideal time to try and encourage empathy through the structure of preschool and my hope would be as soon as we go through preschool and become more empathetic individuals in that time of very Rapid Development they are going to go into Elementary School and eventually high school with a much more empathetic background and that will leave them much more in tuned to the issues that you brought up which is i think the first step. Supreme Court Decision that essentially outlawed the use of iq tests in lieu of College Degrees to permit people who are not College Graduates to get jobs that matched up with their iqs because in some way they were racially discriminatory i believe. I dont remember the name. It had disparate impact. Disparate impact case. It strikes me that when you speak of credentialing of some sort that is in a College Diploma you might encounter in people for example of taking on line courses and i noticed harvard is starting an on line Course Program very recently so this is moving in the ivies as well. He might nonetheless encounter some similar credentialing problem. What are your thoughts about back . I think its possible but i dont think its likely. Lots of people say that but the reason i love that show there is lots of compelling characters but the primary character are the systems that are interacting in the city of baltimore and holding everybody prisoner the drug trade, public schools, and media, municipal government government, and police. We primarily see the way you can never hope to address education without paying attention to these other things. To the extent that we the people start to demand and hold elected officials more accountable to a systematic policy approach, we will be struggling for a while. That is the biggest thing to say as a final point but in that sense there is no short cuts. We cannot fix Public Education 11 added for willis and in poverty. I am part of a researching occult social Science Research institute and that is the unit composed of people doing research in the social science and disciplined and i do a lot of research. Im also a social entrepreneur, so i direct the nonprofit called page, partnership for appalachian girls education. And there i work with appalachian girls in middleschool and help them get Educational Opportunity and access. I have a couple different hats i wear at the university.
