Different tone. The tone to me this morning, jon, is fascinating. The crosscurrents in the market, i can honestly say, in a zillion years, i have never seen how odd it is right now with the pandemic news, and of course some of that, china and beijing, wrapped around the reaffirmation of wall street, for some form of vshaped recovery. I was thunderstruck over the weekend, some of the optimism coming out of wall street houses. Jon we will talk about that later in the program. Funeral for general soleimani, of course, killed during drone strike as we are hearing fresh threats to set u. S. Facilities on fire bringing death to israel and officially, official designate the u. S. Military a terrorist force, the administration is defending the air strikes that killed soleimani this morning claiming hes responsible for leading operations in iraq that killed 600 service members, rob, thank you very much for your service in the country, your reaction to that all of this . I think we are getting away from the fact that soleimani was found in baghdad which could have become another benghazi but thank god because the appropriate response went in. This was not an act of war, killing was a strong and appropriate response, so this attack on the american soldiers has been happening overseas for a while now, i think the response is strong and i think also when we see all of the crowds gathering to mourn soleimani, a lot of people are pretending that they are there by force.

Right before another president ial election. The big worry is uncertainty about trade. The u. S. Is threatening to ramp up tariffs on china, and it isnt clear when it will stop. Corporate executives say the uncertainty is making them less inclined to make new investments until the coast clears. Meantime, economies in the rest of the world are slowing. Now, in times of trouble the Federal Reserve usually cuts Interest Rates to make it cheaper for businesses and households to borrow, invest and spend. The fed has started doing just that, but the feds biggest critic, president donald trump, doesnt think hes moving fast enough or aggressively enough. Im joined here today in washington by a person who understands these issues and whats at stake the better than virtually anyone else.
