Maryland Releases Bold New Plan to Achieve Climate Goals – Advanced BioFuels USA


(Maryland Department of the Environment) State Pursues Ambitious Goal to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions by 50% by 2030 as Nation Officially Re-enters Paris Climate Accord The Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) has released a comprehensive plan that sets a clear and unifying path for the state to dramatically reduce greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change, while also growing jobs and the economy for Marylanders.
The 2030 Greenhouse Gas Reduction Act (GGRA) Plan, which MDE is submitting to Governor Larry Hogan and the Maryland General Assembly, meets and exceeds the goals required under current state law.
The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Act calls for a reduction of emissions of 40% by 2030 (from 2006 levels), while pursuing more ambitious goals recommended by the independent, bipartisan Maryland Commission on Climate Change.
