house. i m edward lawrence in for neil cavuto. this is your world. we have fox news team coverage with steve harrigan in atlanta on how flyers are holding up. peter doocy on the white house lawn and how they re clamping down. we begin with steve. edward, the frustration here is turning to anger. you can see this mountain of luggage here. most of this is three days old. when they sort this out, there s piles more downstairs that they expect to bring up. a lot of people have been stuck here. i spoke to a woman that had been here 24 hours stuck. she said she felt like she was one of the lucky ones. almost 5,000 flights, domestic and international cancelled today because of the winter weather. as many as 2,500 of those all from southwest airlines. when you talk to people, you get a sense of a rising anger and how they re being treated. my first flight was supposed to be at 7:00 a.m. my second flight was at 9:50 a.m. it sold out for tomorrow. maybe the day after tomorr ....

Patient. this is a really unfortunate situation. i just hope people aren t really taking it out on the airlines and the people working at the airport. they re just as frustrated as everyone else. neil: the difference with the southwest situation, that was limited to southwest. the thousands of flights. and that airline s own glitches. here when everything is down and waiting for news when planes will be flying again, it s almost like russian roulette. how do you play that as a flyer? you take a risk when you travel. this is like that. the southwest issue is a technology issue on their end. you had big brother parking at them when they screwed up. now it s big brother screwing up and everyone is getting on them. it s just one of those things. i feel this from the government ....

99% of the time but we need to double down on our already existing plans to upgrade system for these extreme circumstances so we never again face what s happening right now. this morning nationwide 2700 domestic flights were canceled and 90% of those were southwest. 2500. people buying tickets on other airlines. places like chicago and dallas where southwest operates out of a different airport they land and don t have their cars. people are stuck and frills traited. i have been dealing with this since christmas eve. my flight got canceled at 12:00 in the morning while we were on the plane. we waited in line for an hour and a half and get to the front of the line and tell us there are no flights anywhere until the end of the year. it s a southwest issue. we ve been very loyal to southwest. their system did not work this time. the department of transportation says southwest will be held accountable in terms of ticket refunds, hotel ....
