“This business fits their criteria of the ordinance we have in place. We don’t really have any grounds to deny it,” council member Susan Tjarks said of the Flower Shop dispensary.
“The dispensary issues are uncontrollable, and it brings an element into society that is not conducive, I believe, to what the city is planning to do with Main Street,” Don Dahl said at the meeting.
If the proposed plans for the 1300 S. Burr St. property materialize, a 9,000-square-foot facility would be built to house the Orthopedic Institute's offices on the corner of Easy Kay Avenue and South Burr Street.
“It’s been an eyesore for quite some time,” a Mitchell Planning Commission member said of the former restaurant that will become the site of a medical office building.
