The Chhattisgarh High Court has initiated suo moto proceedings after a 25-year-old woman delivered a baby on the floor of a health centre in Surguja district apparently due to absence of doctors and nurses, noting it is a very sorry state of affairs.
Justice Chandra Dhari Singh observed that a case involving a poor worker took more than two decades to decide, and that the delay left him in a state of profound uncertainty.
The Delhi High Court has said that it is a sorry state of affairs in the Constitutional Courts of the country that the poor labourers are forced to fight tooth and nail to get justice for.
