India's first space-based solar observatory, Aditya L1, is continuously studying the Sun but will miss the total solar eclipse today that will be visible over vast swaths of North America.
In a press conference about the event, the NASA deputy administrator Pam Melroy said the solar eclipse will offer “incredible scientific opportunities”
A solar eclipse happens when the moon moves in front of the Sun as seen from a location on Earth. Only Exmouth on Australia s western coast will be able to see a total eclipse, which happens once every 400 years.
