Mary Means Business: Farmstead Restaurant officially closes Mary Pollitz After nearly a decade, Farmstead Restaurant has officially closed. The home-style restaurant at 142 S. McCrary Road announced its closure on social media earlier this week. Though some area businesses and big box retailers announced closures over the past year due to COVID-19, that was not the case for owners Sandra and Paul Reeves. “Our customer numbers have been fantastic, even better than pre-COVID,” Sandra said. “… We are working with a low number of staff, and the ones that have been faithful have become burned out.” Some employees have also been forced to take leave to tend to aging and sick parents, she added. Unfortunately, rehiring and retraining an entirely new staff just wasn’t in the cards for the Farmstead Restaurant. ....
Assembly Food Hall to welcome locals upon spring opening Officials with Fifth + Broadway and The Food Hall Co. announced Thursday a trio of local restaurants for the development’s Assembly Food Hall: Turkish cuisine focused Istanbul Shawarma, Cotton & Snow Shaved Ice and The Pharmacy Wurst. According to a release, The Pharmacy Wurst will join sister eatery The Pharmacy Burger the well-known East Nashville locale was one of the first restaurants to sign with Fifth + Broadway in early 2019 at the soon-to-open downtown facility. It will feature bratwurst and currywurst as well as new offerings such as beer-battered bratwurst corndogs and panchanga (a vegan wurst). ....
