Covington residents worry that a St. Tammany Parish proposal to pull downed trees and other Hurricane Ida debris from Mile Branch could increase erosion and cause environmental damage.
The $4 billion plan included proposals to elevate thousands of homes, build a levee around Slidell, and dredge a creek near Covington. The Corp last week quietly withdrew its proposal to deepen and widen the creek last week.
