KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia kini lebih menggalakkan kemasukan pelaburan secara selektif ke dalam negara bagi mencapai status berpendapatan tinggi sejajar dengan dasar pelaburan baharu untuk menarik lebih ramai pelabur berkualiti tinggi semasa dan selepas tempoh pandemik Covid-19.
Menteri Kanan merangkap Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali berkata, ia bertepatan dengan dasar baharu, Aspirasi Pelaburan Nasional (NIA), yang akan menjana pekerjaan berpendapatan tinggi, terutama pada pasca-Covid-19 dan seterusnya meningkatkan taraf hidup rakyat.

S. Korean firm invests RM2.3bil to set up copper foil plant in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: South Korean company SK Nexilis is injecting investment worth RM2.3bil into Sabah to set up its first overseas copper foil manufacturing plant here.
Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor announced this on Friday (March 5) after receiving a courtesy call from the company s entourage led by its vice president Lee Hyun Woo at Sri Gaya here.
Hajiji, who is also state Finance Minister, assured the visitors that the state government would provide all necessary assistance to facilitate the company s investment here.
SK Nexilis, a subsidiary of South Korean Fortune 500 company SKC Co, plans to build the facility at Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP), creating 400 job opportunities. ....

SK Nexilis to build copper foil plant in Kota Kinabalu

SK Nexilis will build its first overseas plant in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, with the aim of tripling its production capacity of copper foil for electric vehicle (EV) battery cells, the company said Tuesday.
During a board meeting, the SK Group unit decided to build a plant capable of producing 44,000 tons of copper foil for EV battery in a year. The plant will be built in Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park, Sabah state, and its commercial operation will begin in 2023.
When the plant is completed, SK Nexilis total battery copper foil production capacity will jump to stand at 100,000 tons per year. ....
