Maikatako announced his resignation when he addressed a group-APC facebookers in Gusau on Thursday.
“I wish to announce my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led State Government.
“The decision is to show my commitments to support my political mentor Sen. Kabiru Marafa towards promoting peace and unity in our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I want to call on the PDP led government in the state to avoid politics of bitterness and witchunting.
“What I expect from PDP and other political parties in the state is for them congratulate us as APC members on the recent reconciliation achieved by our great party, we should avoid a due or die politic,” he said.
The
All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed its readiness for its membership registration and revalidation exercise in Zamfara State.
The chairman of the state caretaker committee of the party, Lawal Liman, stated this in Gusau on Wednesday at a meeting on the exercise in the state.
Mr Liman commended the Chairman of the National Membership Registration Committee, Umar Kareta, and his team, who were deployed to Zamfara.
“I call on our members to come out en-masse and participate in the registration and revalidation exercise for the development of the party.
“On Thursday, we are going to embark on step-down training for the exercise at the 14 local government areas of the state.
