The GFWC Lincoln Woman’s Club would like to thank the many Logan County schools who supported our recent graduation sign fundraiser. Nine area schools ordered “Congratulations Graduate” signs to recognize and honor their newly graduated students. Working with Lincoln Printers, the signs were produced in each school’s colors and featured a photo of each student.
LWC members planted the Lincoln Community High School graduates signs on the Logan County Courthouse lawn on the day of the 2021 Senior Parade. Many of the new graduates enjoyed posing by the signs after the parade’s end before taking them home. Other schools displayed their signs on the school driveway for several days to honor their graduates before students took them home to their own yards. Some displayed the signs on the school lawn on graduation day while several schools’ staff delivered the signs personally to the graduates’ homes. ....

Philadelphia Historical Commission staff recently has processed an increasing number of historic district nominations. Pending nominations include the Automobile Row Thematic Historic District (29 properties on North Broad Street), Central Mount Airy Commercial Historic District (47 properties), Carnegie Library Thematic Historic District, French Village Historic District (24 properties in West Mount Airy), and 3611-31 Spring Garden Street Historic District. ....

Zoning and Land Use Team is continuing to monitor all aspects of the Philadelphia land use approval process during the COVID-19 emergency, including the issuance of zoning and building permits, regulation of construction work, and zoning and land use related legislation in City Council. Below, we provide information on land use related legislation passed by City Council last week.
Tax Abatement Legislation Update
On December 10, 2020, City Council voted to advance three bills related to the property tax abatement (described in detail in our last
Bill No. 200653 reduces the benefits of the commercial/industrial tax abatement (the Ordinance 1130 abatement). This bill reduces the tax abatement to 90% of the value of the improvements for 10 years. This reduction would apply to all applications filed after December 31, 2021. ....
