A Frisco pastor said he has become a “target of the cancel culture” and of what he says are nationwide attacks on people of faith after his rhetoric drew national attention and condemnation from community members.
KingdomLife pastor Brandon Burden posted a video statement to the church’s YouTube channel Monday, about two weeks after the Jan. 10 service in which he urged his congregants to keep their guns loaded and stock up on food and water before President Joe Biden’s inauguration and cited “prophetic voices” who said God told them Donald Trump would be president for eight years.

After a Frisco pastor made national headlines for his statements during a Sunday service just days after insurrectionists stormed the U.S. Capitol, city leaders denounced his comments, and several residents expressed fears that Christian nationalism has infiltrated their community.
“We have an executive order not from Congress or D.C., but from the desk of the CEO of heaven, the boss of the planet,” Burden said. “He said from his desk in heaven, this is my will; Trump will be in for eight years.”

A Frisco resident said he is worried about the city’s future after three City Council members dismissed an ethics complaint he filed against Mayor Jeff Cheney and three other members.
In the complaint filed last month, Martin Woodward requested that Cheney, John Keating, Brian Livingston and Dan Stricklin be removed from office for not following the state mask mandate or the city’s COVID-19 emergency order.
