2. The return of Ski-A-Rees Ski-A-Rees, the famed Sarasota water skiing team formed in the 1950s, returns this weekend to perform in the waters off City Island near Ken Thompson Parkway. Their first show since suspending operations about a year ago due to the coronavirus pandemic will be 2 p.m. Sunday, with plans to continue each Sunday after that through at least May 2. We will be asking all in attendance to wear masks, reads the website. Sarasota Native American Art & Music Festival The rich culture, artistry, music, food and traditions of the Native American people will be on display at the 14th annual Sarasota Native American Art & Music Festival. This year’s event will feature the first annual Sarasota Native American Music Concert (tickets are $15 or festival/concert combo $22; children free.) Taking place 6-10 p.m. Saturday, the numerous acts on the lineup include Stevie Strings, singer Teri Garrison performing with Richy Kicklighter, and The Huntoons debuting a tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Allman Brothers Band. 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. and 6-10 p.m. (concert) Saturday and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday; Sarasota Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota.
