These heros will not be with their families tomorrow celebrating thanksgiving. The police union video says so far this year 56 officers have been killed by gunfire, a 70 increase over last year. The video comes on the heels of an incident earlier last week when a gunman shot at two officers in east san jose. Neither was hit, but its the second time this year when someone fired at San Jose Police officers. He wasnt threatening nobody. That man took care of his kids. Reporter kelly says the only public expression of anger and indignation comes when theres an officerinvolved shooting. The crash shut down the westbound lanes in crockett just before 2 30 this morning. The car caught fire with a person trapped inside. Passersby tried to run and put out the fire. A special Traffic Alert has been issued by the Highway Patrol. Visibility is still very low had the area because of that fog. A fatal accident on highway 101 last night backed up traffic for hours last night near the airport. It happened near south Airport Boulevard just after 1 00. A female pedestrian was struck by cars and killed. The chp immediately closed all all the northbound lanes between grand avenue and oyster point. The victim died at the scene, leaving investigators with Little Information to go on. It was a female in her mid20s, early 30s at this time, but its all under investigation. A man who was wanted on charges stemming from a shooting that happened on Valentine's Day in East Knoxville was taken into custody in Detroit, Michigan, according to Knoxville Police.
At around 11 p.m. Wednesday, KPD officers arrived at the 2200 block of McCalla Avenue where they found a man who had been shot at least one time, KPD said.
