Owner Jonathan Phillips serves what he calls East Coast tacos – including, from left, a black bean taco, beer-battered cod taco and pulled pork taco. They mirror the Americanized West Coast taco consumed in beach areas along the Southern California coast. Now, the lights are off again at Danzer’s German & American Gasthof at 153 Ainsley Drive in Syracuse. It’s been closed since late November, just after Gov. Andrew Cuomo placed the city and some of its suburbs into an orange zone. Cuomo used rising Covid-19 cases to justify his order that restaurants in those areas shut down for indoor dining.
