Sheffield celebrated local civil rights icon Elizabeth Freeman on Sunday, Aug. 20 in a series of events, including the annual Elizabeth Freeman Walk to Freedom.
The Great Barrington Select Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, Sept. 11 on a speical permit application for a proposed marijuana cultivation and manufacturing facility, Midori's Gardens.
“These murals are all gems,” mural project co-steward and event organizer Kamaar Taliaferro said. “To me, we’re lucky to be in a community like the Berkshires where there is natural beauty. But there is also beauty when it comes to a community like Pittsfield.”
According to the Great Barrington Fire Department, over 300 cars, with owners from several different states, were entered into the department's annual car show on Thursday, August 3 with thousands in attendance.
“The idea to form Katunemo was that I wanted to find a way to form a group that would support each other and their cultures,” Katunemo art collective founder Marina Dominguez told The Berkshire Edge. “I wanted to get into the journey of healing through art."
