Sheriff s deputies arrested in March Garaus Henry, of Lansing, who they said was the driver of a vehicle involved in a high-speed crash that injured four people. Sha-Heem Harris, 21, of Elmira, was the passenger in the other vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:50 a.m. accident on Auburn Road. Henry was initially indicted on three counts of second-degree attempted murder and one count of second-degree aggravated criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff s Office. A grand jury later also indicted Henry on the additional charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment. ....
One Dead in Shooting & Crash in Tompkins County The incident happened early Saturday, March 13 in Lansing. Alex Schmidt The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says both vehicles lost control at about 2 a.m., with one hitting a telephone pole and the other coming to rest in a residential yard. 26-year-old Garaus Henry of Lansing, who was driving one of the vehicles was not seriously hurt while his 19-year-old passenger, Fausto Gio Frias, otherwise known as Junior Brooks was reportedly treated at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for minor injuries. Get our free mobile app A passenger in the other car, identified as 21-year-iold Sha-Heem Harris died at the scene while the driver of that car, identified as 41-year-old Saad Letif Muhammed was treated at Guthrie Medical Center for injuries, including a gunshot wound. Another passenger, identified as 61-year-old Tyrone Fair was being treated at Guthrie for what were believed to be serious injuries. ....
TOWN OF LANSING (WBNG) Tompkins County Police say an incident involving two speeding vehicles and a gunfight early Sunday morning has left 3 injured and one dead. Police say they received a call about a loud dispute and gunshots around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday near the 600 block of Ridge Rd. The caller said the two parties involved left the area in separate vehicles after the dispute. Moments later, sheriffs responded to the 500 block of Auburn Rd. in the same area for a report of 2 vehicles that went off the roadway with multiple injuries. An investigation at the scene found that those injured from the crash were the same two parties involved in the shots fired dispute. ....
