One Dead in Shooting & Crash in Tompkins County
The incident happened early Saturday, March 13 in Lansing.

The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office says both vehicles lost control at about 2 a.m., with one hitting a telephone pole and the other coming to rest in a residential yard.
26-year-old Garaus Henry of Lansing, who was driving one of the vehicles was not seriously hurt while his 19-year-old passenger, Fausto Gio Frias, otherwise known as Junior Brooks was reportedly treated at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for minor injuries.

A passenger in the other car, identified as 21-year-iold Sha-Heem Harris died at the scene while the driver of that car, identified as 41-year-old Saad Letif Muhammed was treated at Guthrie Medical Center for injuries, including a gunshot wound. Another passenger, identified as 61-year-old Tyrone Fair was being treated at Guthrie for what were believed to be serious injuries.
LANSING, NY A 21-year-old man is dead after a gunfight between two cars led to two crashes on Auburn Road in Lansing. The deceased was named as Sha-Heem Harris, from Elmira.
On March 13 at 1:40 a.m. the sheriffâs department received a complaint of a loud dispute involving gunshots near the 600 block of Ridge Road in Lansing. The caller told dispatch that the two parties had subsequently left the area in two separate vehicles.
About 10 minutes later, officers responded to the 500 block of Auburn Road for the report of two vehicles off the roadway and multiple injuries; it was determined that the occupants of the vehicles were the same people involved in the earlier dispute. Tompkins County authorities have identified an Elmira man as the person killed early Saturday morning in a high-speed crash in the Town of Lansing that reportedly involved gunfire between two vehicles in the lead up to the accident.
Meanwhile, the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office has charged a 26-year-old Lansing man with attempted murder in connection with the crash, which also injured four.
According to the sheriff’s department, Sha-Heem Harris, 21, a passenger in a black, 2006 Hyundai Sonata, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:50 a.m. accident on Auburn Road. The official cause of death is pending an upcoming autopsy, investigators said.
