Our Correspondent Kohima, June 20 (EMN): The Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association (NASSA) and Joint Action Committee on Monday decided to continue its indefinite agitation starting on Tuesday, after temporarily suspending it for three days. The agitation was earlier called off temporarily for three working days, starting from June 17, following a request made by the seven-member Parliamentary Committee headed by MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo in a joint meeting with the NASSA on June 15. However, JAC Secretary Sezoto Theyo and NASSA General Secretary, Talirenla announced on Monday that the two bodies had decided to continue its indefinite agitation starting from June 21, as the state government hasn’t responded to its demand of revoking the appointment order of Dr. P.J. Our Correspondent Kohima, June 16 (EMN): The Nagaland Assembly Secretariat Staff Association (NASSA) and Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Thursday announced to temporarily suspend its ongoing agitation for three working days from June 17. This decision was conveyed by the JAC Secretary Sezoto Theyo and NASSA General Secretary, Talirenla following a joint meeting held on June 16, after a request was made by the seven-member Parliamentary Committee headed by MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo in a joint meeting with the staff association on June 15. Besides Sazo as the chairman, the other members of the committee were Metsubo jamir, Tongpang Ozukum, KT Sukhalu, Mhathung Yanthan, Medo Yokha and Khehovi Yeputhomi. “The committee had assured in the meeting that the grievances of NASSA/JAC shall be addressed positively”, they stated. This development comes following the expiry of the ultimatum served to the Speaker of NLA to revoke/cancel the appointment order of Dr. PJ Antony (Retired Officer) latest by June 13, 2022. On Tuesday morning, the aggrieved staff gathered at the assembly gate for the poster campaign. Briefing journalists, Joint Action Committee (JAC) Secretary, Sezoto Theyo said the purpose of the gathering is against the illegal appointment of Dr. PJ Antony in the Assembly Secretariat and against the arbitrary framing of certain provisions in the service rules to accommodate his service.
