Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan today opened the Albany Affordable Student Housing project, another step forward in transforming the Albany central business district precinct into a connected community centre.
The McGowan Government invested almost $11 million into the $16 million, 40-bed accommodation facility, which will support further growth of the Great Southern tertiary education sector.
The 121 Serpentine facility, operated by Advance Housing, is located on the site of the old Albany Primary School and forms a key part of the Albany CBD precinct. ....

Driver charged; passenger sought after pursuit – Central Coast
A woman has been charged and inquiries continue to locate the passenger of a vehicle following a pursuit on the Central Coast yesterday.
About 8.50pm (Friday 15 January 2021), officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District were conducting patrols of the Erina area when they attempted to stop a Toyota Corolla on Terrigal Drive near Serpentine Road.
The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit was initiated.
Just after 9pm, road spikes were successfully deployed, before the Corolla struck a tree on Milina Street.
The driver, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested at the scene and taken to Gosford Hospital for observation. ....
