COVID-19 Update for Clubs | Kilkenny GAA

I know you will be aware by now of the positive announcement by the Irish Government yesterday in relation to the further relaxing of restrictions for society generally and for Gaelic Games in particular.
As you will appreciate, we need to receive further clarity on aspects of what was announced last evening but broadly speaking the following is what is proposed in the coming weeks:
From 10
th May – Outdoor training is permitted at adult level in pods of a maximum of 15 people (including coaches). However, games are not allowed and indoor facilities must remain closed.
From 7
th June (and subject to the Public Health situation at the time) – Club games will be permitted at all levels but must be played “behind closed doors”. ....

Eir and TG4 will broadcast live action while GAAGO will air the remainder of the games from hurling’s top tier and all four divisions of football.

UPCOMING INTER-COUNTY league fixtures will be spread across Saturdays and Sundays for live TV coverage from broadcast partners Eir and TG4 in a similar manner to the 2020 season.
The Allianz Hurling League will begin on the weekend of 8/9 May, with football commencing a week later. ....

Cork football manager Ronan McCarthy has been reappointed to another two years in the Rebel County.
McCarthy steered the Leesiders to promotion from Division 3 this past season before they stunned Kerry with a late Mark Keane goal to progress to the Munster SFC final in November.
Cian O’Neill, Sean Hayes, John Hayes, and Bobbie O’Dwyer are set to continue on as selectors under McCarthy in 2021.
Speaking on the reappointment, Cork County Committee chairperson Marc Sheehan said he’s looking forward ahead to what they hope will be “a productive two years”. ....
