floats. then it just opened up, that familiar, you know, semi gunfire. just a rain of shots. nbc s rehema ellis has been monitoring this. rehema, what do we know right now? reporter: not much more than what you talked about, steve, because this is unfolding as we speak. you pointed out the police are looking for a suspect. this event happened, this mass shooting happened just a short while after the fireworks, the fourth of july festivities, were getting under way. as you reported, there are reports of several people who were shot. we do not at this point have an exact number of how many people were shot or if any people were killed in this incident. as one person was saying there that we just heard from, people were enjoying a fourth of july festivity, a parade, in highland park. this is a community about 25 miles north of chicago. when they heard these sounds ring out. the guy was saying there, you heard a pop, pop, pop, and he said it was like a rain of shots tha ....
