Former white house strategist steve bannon now says he is willing to testify before the january 6th committee. that s according to a letter his lawyer sent to the committee over the weekend. perhaps not coincidentally, bannon s willingness to cooperate comes a week before jury selection is supposed to start in his contempt of congress trial. he was indicted back in november for not complying with a congressional subpoena sent by the committee. also over the weekend, former president trump released a letter saying he would waive executive privilege over bannon s potential testimony. a federal judge had previously called trump s claims of having any executive privilege there at best ambiguous. joining us now to break it down for us is our friend hugo lowell, congressional reporter for the guardian. good morning. let s talk about steve bannon, i know a lot of democrats who heard this hour and said wait a ....
