Sexual assault on a developmentally delayed developmentally disabled inmate. The sheriff took an inmate home in a personal truck. A deputys concerns led to a investigation by the cbi, revealing the sheriff sexually assaulted her for about five minutes inside the home. The sheriff denied the assault thing she had information she wanted to tell him in private. The sheriff said he made a poor decision. Alongside district attorneys is now being prosecuted by one. Sedgwick county sheriff tom hanna faces felony charges involving the Sexual Assault of a developmentally disabled inmate. The details can be hard to hear. Hanna learned about the charges against him wedneday. 10th that he was going to drive a female prisoner to Logan County Jail in his personal truck. Instead, the deputy says the truck ended up at the sheriffs home. Investigators interviewed the inmate a woman who says she has a low iq. She told investigators the sheriff had her strip down, offered her 60 bucks and sexually assaulted her. Wednesday a judge approved the das request to bring in a special prosecutor. The da says the investigation into hanna was awkward and uncomfortable but she doesnt want it to reflect hannas bond was set at 250thousand dollars. Creek subdivision and on the east side of county road 59 between Cherokee Park road and the state line. We are told at least two engine air tankers have been called in to help battle that fire. Investigators believe it was sparked by lightning. We have a crew on the way to the scene and we will keep you posted.
