One Vikas Bohat was booked for outraging modesty of a woman. The High Court quashed the FIR after the parties entered into a settlement. However, the Court imposed a unique condition.
A 55-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted and paraded semi-naked in a village in Punjab's Tarn Taran district by the in-laws of her son after the couple got married against their wishes.
The Court explained that while no offence for "outraging the modesty of a woman" under Section 354, IPC was made out, charges under Section 323, IPC for causing hurt would be attracted.
Following a woman a couple of times, abusing and pushing her with the bicycle can be annoying acts but wouldn t constitute an offence under 354 of the IPC, the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court.
