Very hot temperatures and strong easterly winds have created a perfect storm for fire conditions in Perth s metropolitan area, and a fire near Lancelin, north of Perth, will be firefighters main concern today as several bushfires north, south and east of the city are stretching crews.

On Tuesday night it looked like homes in two small settlements near Lancelin, about 140 kilometres north of Perth, would be overrun by a massive bushfire burning for four days already.
But thanks to the efforts of about 200 firefighters, those houses are still standing.
Homes in the Ocean Farm Estate were under imminent treat of the fire.

About 200 volunteer and career firefighters worked around the clock to stop the fire front as air tankers dropped several thousand litres worth of retardant on the southern flank of the blaze, which had razed 9400 hectares of bushland.
An emergency warning has been issued to residents of Ocean Farms Estate and Seaview Park as they’re about to be impacted by fire burning out of control north of Perth.
They have been told to act immediately to survive as there is a threat to lives and properties.
The blaze has been burning at an emergency level in the shires of Gingin and Dandaragan for two days.
It’s already burnt through more than 9,000 hectares of bushland.
