Thanks to efforts to increase populations, there are about 200 California condors living in the wild in California. More than a dozen of the large birds have decided to call Cinda Mickolsâ place their home for now. Mickols lives about two hours outside Los Angeles. She had seen condors near her property before, but she was not prepared for what she saw last week. ....
May 9, 2021 TEHACHAPI, CALIFORNIA (AP) – Giant California condors are rare – but not at Cinda Mickolsâ home. About 15 to 20 of the giant endangered birds have recently taken a liking to the house in the city of Tehachapi and made quite a mess. Mickolsâ daughter, Seana Quintero of San Francisco, began posting photos of the rowdy guests on Twitter. She told the San Francisco Chronicle the birds showed up at her motherâs home sometime last weekend. The birds have trashed the deck – ruining a spa cover, decorative flags and lawn ornaments. Plants have been knocked over, railings scratched and thereâs poop everywhere. ....
