Counterprotests. Theres been a Large Police Presence here. They have been here all day made up of ucberkeley police, police from other uc campuses, and city Police Officers. They have been walking in large groups of about 6 or 7 or 8. Now they are kind of dispersed in different spaces. Some groups opposed to the shapiro appearance scrawled messages on sidewalks and signs around campus. Others have said the barriers, closed sections of campus, clusters of police [ pause ] have militarized the campus. University Officials Say they have two goals here, protect attendees and protect everyones right to free speech. Reaction now from people on all sides of this debate.
