A Southern California couple is behind bars this morning after police made a horrifying discovery. Authorities say they found 12 of their children being held captive, some chained to beds, and starving. The children range in age from 2 to 29 years old. We have the latest. Reporter social media posts show one big, happy family. 13 kids with their parents on vacation, often dressed in matching outfits. But investigators say no one could have pictured what was happening inside their perris home. Early sunday, a 17yearold girl escaped from the home and called 911 saying her 12 brothers and sisters were being held captive. Some bound to their beds with chains and padlocks. Reporter an absolutely incredible rescue. It happened just minutes ago, as you mentioned. The 24yearold surfer is on a u. S. Coast guard boat. Were told he has hypothermia and was severely banged up. Hes currently en route to sausalito and going to marin general. This all started when he and a buddy came down to ocean beach about 6 30 this evening. They got separated at sunset. That surfer made his way to shore where he borrowed the abc 7 photographer, borrowed his cell phone to call 911. Park rangers became involved. The surfer told them about his friend being lost out in the black waves. He told the rangers that his surfer friend of experienced, a little out of shape and had asthma. Now, the u. S. Coast guard deployed both a helicopter and newsroom boats. And just minutes ago, they were able to rescue him from the seal rocks that are right off of the cliff house. An incredible rescue.
