Outpouring of help from businesses for those affected by devastating Cape Town fire By Kristin Engel By KRISTIN ENGEL Cape Town – As has been the hallmark of South Africans when faced with a calamity, everyone stands together and offers assistance in every way they can. This has again been seen with the outpouring of relief for those affected and impacted by the devastating fire along the slopes of Table Mountain. Gift of the Givers is preparing three meals per day for the next seven days for evacuated UCT students, and has been preparing personal hygiene packs for the students spread across 29 hostels in response to their need for soap, toothpaste and hygiene items.

Firefighters and volunteers are at the frontline working to contain the massive fire. Energy bars, energy drinks (not fizzy please), wet wipes, coffee sachets, peanuts, doughnuts, cupcakes, easy snacks, ready-made sandwiches (individually packaged), eye drops, panado, lip ice, Allergex, deep heat lotion, deep freeze lotion. 2. All students were evacuated from campus at the University of Cape Town as a fire continued to rage in the area. Students are in need of basic essential items like toiletries, sanitary pads, masks, food, water, painkillers, plastic and paper bags.
