SCVNews.com | Hart District Votes 4-1 to Suspend Return to Campus Until February


The William S. Hart Union High School District governing board voted 4-1 to suspend small cohorts returning to campus through Feb. 8.
James Webb was the single dissenting vote against the Feb. 8 return date, stating he didn’t think the school district would be able to provide students and teachers with the safest environment by that date.
The board also voted 3-2 to postpone the discussion on having athletic conditioning return to campuses, as well as unanimously voting to cancel administration of a Jan. 26 practice SAT.
The decisions, as recommended by Superintendent Mike Kuhlman, are in line with the Targeted Safer at Home Health Officer Order. The board also agreed to continue the discussion about these decisions and leave the door open to other possibilities at successive board meetings. ....

Get ready to get your game on Sunday, March 14, as Soroptimist International of Valencia presents their annual fundraiser to benefit the Soroptimist’s Dream Programs: Live Your Dream and Dream It, Be It.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the original event – “Gentlemen for a Cause” – has been reimagined and renamed to “Games for a Cause,” a dynamic, virtual at-home game night featuring games similar to Trivia, Pictionary and Taboo. Tickets range from $50–$125, and depending on level, include game night play, take-home charcuterie and to-go cocktails.
Sponsorships are also available in Gold ($1,000), Silver ($500) and Bronze ($200) levels, which include various benefits and recognition according to sponsor level. Silent auction baskets will also be available for bidding online. ....
