It s good to be here. you know, there is i know you don t want to render judgment on ethical concerns being raised against mr. pruitt. but there is a concern among his supporters that it s his potency as epa director, the moves that he is taking that fuels a lot of heat against him causing his critics to raise the temperature. is that fair? is some of this overblown because a lot don t like what he is doing at the epa? listen, i would probably be the first to say that i don t believe that scott pruitt is acting in the best interest of the environmental protection agency public health. our ability to live healthy lives. our ability to address climate change. those are the things he should be talking about and thinking. now, clearly the ethics lapses are real. i don t think anyone is making those issues up. and i think they are compelling. i think they speak to his ....
Wants to communicate directly to people and not have the filter. he has a kohl channel dedicated to praising him over on fox news. he should be thrilled. what s unfair? fox news is one network out of ten that are it s a large network with a huge platform. what s the problem? because we re actually holding him accountable and they re a propaganda channel now. i think he s freaking out now because of stormy daniels and those cases are heating up. it doesn t look good for them. stormy daniels all right. and why was the media obsessing about the stormy daniels story? what does that have to do with anything? who praut up stormy? i didn t bring up stormy daniels. you guys brought up stormy daniels. on that note, tara, stephen, thank you for the discussion. i didn t do it. epa chief scott pruitt under fire. currently president trump telling pruitt he has his back. ....
Optimism, is driving the country as well. largely because of the decisions that were making in the executive branch to give back to common sense regulations. bret: well, scott pruitt under fire. the epa administrator dealing with a number of scandals that have been covered and we ve covered here on special report. the president asked specifically about that today and said i hope you will be good. not exactly a ringing endorsement. our friend from the washington journal says, however, this pruitt flag is absurd. obama epa officials spend as much or more on travel and career epa ethics officials say he paid reasonable market value for the condo, and police or had no business in front of the epa. the press might at least try to pretend it didn t have two standards. talking about $50 a night here in washington, a place owned, katie, by a lobbyist. your thoughts on this? it was not a ringing endorsement. i hope he will be great. ....
Cnn did some research and found that pruitt s landlords, they also were political donors. rene marsh, cnn, washington. all right, rene, thank you. joining me now to discuss this, amy kramer, the co-chair of women vote trump. and josh waring, former spokesperson for hillary clinton. you saw the comment on the epa administrator pruitt. is this overblown or is this something he should be held to account for? step down from his post as a result of this? i think he should be held accountable. i think everyone in washington should. it s been turned over to the ig at the epa and the ig i m sure will get to the bottom of it. but, you know, president trump promised to drain the swamp and that goes for both democrats and republicans. we have seen already what happened with tom price. trey gowdy who is a republican congressman, has already asked for all of pruitt s travel records i believe. so there s already been an investigation going into this. ....
Something the left is aplpli plektic about. he s not the first to come under fire for excessive use of taxpayer dollars. you ve got the recent cabinet members under scrutiny. we talk about draining the swamp. they ve done a horrible job of draining the swamp. it seems like every week there s a cabinet secretary who s wasting money on $140,000 door or a $25,000 phone booth which was, again, a pruitt scandal. what we re seeing is when it comes to taxpayer dollars the trump administration has no thriftiness whatsoever. but then what we re seeing with scott pruitt is he is using whatever loophole or gift or lobbyist connection he can to get a deal that no other person in d.c. could possibly get if they don t have a job in this administration. that is a huge ethics problem. it ties into these larger scandals we re seeing across the administration. we should point out there is ....
